We currently have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Groundsperson to join our Health and Education team at TAFE Queensland - Southbank Campus. The purpose of the Groundsperson position is to maintain and improve the landscaped areas, garden beds, hard landscaping and general grounds of the campus.

Reporting to the Support Services Supervisor, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

The role is Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm.

What You’ll Do (key responsibilities)

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

- General grounds maintenance (Mowing, Brush cutting; Edging; Pruning; Weed, pest and Disease control)
- Maintain and improve the landscaped areas, garden beds, hard landscaping
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, infection control, and regulatory requirements. Ensure secure use, storage, and disposal of paints, solvents,



and chemicals. Comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.
- Maintain logs of work completed, materials used, and areas serviced. Report supply needs and assist with inventory management

What You’ll Bring

Education & Qualifications

Certificate II in Horticulture or equivalent

Commercial Operator License under the Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control Act 1966 (desirable)

Operate EWP (Elevated Work Platform) licence (or willingness to obtain)

Work Safely at Heights licence (or willingness to obtain)

First Aid / CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)

Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment (or willingness to obtain)

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Previous experience in Landscaping or a similar Ground person role

Demonstrated ability to maintain grounds and
