A genuine Head of Finance mandate across controllership and FP&A.; Partner closely with the CFO, taking full ownership of reporting, governance and commercial insight while driving the process improvements.

About the company:

A well-established, privately owned business with a significant and long-held property portfolio is seeking a senior finance leader to take the reins of the finance function. Reporting to the CFO and working alongside the executive team, you'll enjoy real influence, broad exposure and the autonomy to drive genuine process improvements.

What you'll do

- Own the monthly reporting cycle, including management accounts, board packs and rolling forecasts, and run the annual budget process.
- Provide clear analysis of performance, cash flow, capital expenditure and investment returns.
- Manage the month-end close and maintain strong accounting policies, controls and reconciliations.
- Take ownership of the property, trust and development accounting teams, along with treasury and investment activities.




- Deliver statutory reporting and manage external auditors and compliance obligations (superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, GST and ABS).
- Oversee payroll (handled in-house today, though under review as part of a wider HR systems project), together with accounts payable and receivable.
- Lead and develop a small finance team and support the CFO on system improvements and one-off transactions.

About you

- CA or CPA qualified with senior-level experience.
- A capable people leader who can develop and lead a small team
- Robust technical accounting and statutory reporting skills, ideally within property, real estate, funds or investment environments.
- Experience with property, trust or development accounting (MRI or similar) will be well regarded.
- Hands on with the ability to think strategically
- Strong track record of process improvements
- A commercially minded leader and confident communicator who works well with senior stakeholders.
