Summary/Objective

STACK is seeking an experienced High Voltage (HV) Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of high voltage operations across the Truganina campus. Reporting directly to Chief Engineer, this role will lead a team of Electrical Network Coordinators and ensure the safe, compliant and reliable operation of STACK’s HV electrical network.

This role directly supports STACK’s commitment to 100% uptime and a concierge-level customer service experience, ensuring risk is proactively managed, planned works are executed safely, and customer communications are clear, timely and professional.

The HV Operations Manager is accountable for coordinating daily switching activities, managing team workload and operational processes, and forecasting planned works to ensure the right resources, approvals and controls are in place. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of people leadership, strong process discipline and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities within a mission-critical setting.

People Leadership and Team Management

- Lead, coach and develop a team of Electrical Network Coordinators, setting clear expectations for safety, performance, accountability and collaboration.
- Manage performance through regular one-to-one meetings, development plans, competency reviews and constructive feedback.
- Plan team coverage and workloads to support daily switching, planned works, incidents and on-call requirements.
- Build a collaborative culture and support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and technical development.

HV Operations and Switching

- Manage and coordinate daily switching activities performed by authorised personnel.
- Review switching programs, permits and risk assessments to confirm work is safe and appropriately authorised.




- Ensure switching complies with the Victorian Blue Book, STACK procedures and applicable electrical safety requirements.
- Maintain oversight of network status, permits, handovers, and lead the response to abnormal conditions and emergency switching.

Planning, Process and Work Forecasting

- Develop and maintain forward work forecasts covering switching, maintenance, commissioning, outages, projects and major operational changes.
- Balance concurrent workloads, identify conflicts early and coordinate priorities with Operations, Delivery, Engineering, contractors and customers.
- Establish and improve consistent HV processes, workflows, reporting and governance controls.
- Confirm planned works have appropriate resources, permits, procedures and contingencies, then monitor delivery and adjust forecasts as conditions change.

Operational Governance, Stakeholders and Customer Service

- Lead the development, review, implementation and auditing of MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and switching procedures relating to HV operations.
- Work collaboratively with the HV Operations Director, HV Chief Engineer and wider Critical Operations team to align technical decisions, priorities and resources.
- Use SCADA and relevant monitoring systems to maintain awareness of network status, alarms and operating conditions, and ensure information reflects the physical network configuration.
- Oversee HV maintenance and coordinate contractors, vendors and service providers in accordance with STACK requirements.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis and corrective actions for HV events and operational abnormalities.
- Provide clear, professional customer and stakeholder communication regarding switching, outages, risks and restoration, while ensuring commitments are followed through.
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety, electrical safety, environmental, building, fire and security requirements.

Competencies

- Proven track record managing, coaching and developing technical teams in a mission-critical operating environment.
- Strong process management capability, including consistent controls, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workloads,



forecast works and align people and resources to operational demand.
- Strong knowledge of HV switching, isolation, restoration, electrical safety and operational risk management.
- Strong computer skills with understanding of Microsoft office.
- Effective collaboration, customer service and communication skills, with sound judgement under pressure.

Work Environment

- Based on-site at the Truganina campus, Melbourne, with travel to other STACK facilities as required.
- Attendance outside standard business hours may be required for switching, incidents, maintenance, commissioning and major changes.

Required Education and Experience

- Substantial experience in HV electrical operations, power systems or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Proven people-management experience leading technical employees and managing performance, capability and workload.
- Practical experience coordinating HV switching and planned works, including resource forecasting, procedures and contractors.

Preferred Education and Experience

- Electrical Engineering degree, electrical trade qualification or equivalent recognised professional experience.
- Current or previous HV Authorised Person or equivalent authority; data centre and SCADA experience are highly regarded.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

- Willingness to work outside standard business hours, participate in an on-call roster and operate effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Work Authorisation/Security Clearance Requirements

- Full Australian working rights and the ability to attain and maintain NV1 security clearance where required.
