About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join TLC Indoor Gardens Pty Ltd as a Horticulture Apprenticeship candidate for our Certificate 3 in Parks and Gardens programme. This is a full-time position based in Londonderry NSW. This apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to develop foundational and advanced skills in horticultural practices whilst working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.

You will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of garden design, plant care, landscaping, and maintenance whilst completing your formal qualification. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for plants, gardening, and outdoor spaces who is keen to build a long-term career in the horticulture industry.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation, planting, and maintenance of indoor gardens, landscape and projects under the guidance of experienced horticulturists

- Learn and apply proper plant propagation, cultivation, and care techniques across various plant species

- Participate in the design and installation of gardens and landscaped areas,



including soil preparation and planting arrangements

- Develop competency in the use and maintenance of horticultural tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner

- Participate in the asset maintenance of our vehicles and equipment used for the company's clients

- Support the maintenance and care of established gardens, including watering, fertilising, pest and disease management

- Learn to identify different plant species, understand their characteristics, and recognise pests and diseases

- Assist with general nursery site maintenance and tidiness, including waste disposal and recycling practices

- Complete theoretical coursework and practical assessments required for the Certificate 3 qualification

- Maintain accurate records of plant care activities and project work as required

- Develop a strong understanding of health and safety practices within horticultural and landscaping environments

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for plants, gardening, and horticulture

- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme

- Physical fitness and ability to perform outdoor and indoor work involving manual labour

- Willingness to learn and receptiveness to training and instruction from experienced team members

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team





- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship

- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and instructions

- Enthusiasm for environmental sustainability and responsible gardening practices

- Year 10 completion (or equivalent) is preferred
- A current driver's licence is advantageous, as the role may involve travel to different sites
