We're looking for compassionate Housing Officers to join our Community Services team in Brisbane. Working within our domestic and family violence program, you'll support women to secure safe, stable and affordable housing while helping them build confidence to maintain long-term tenancies.
Location: Brisbane, QLD Role Type: Maximum Term Contract | Part Time role (60 hrs fortnight) Until 31 August 2027 Remuneration: $47.63 - $51.25 ph + Super + Salary Packaging + Employee Discounts &
Benefits What You'll Be Doing This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by combining housing support, tenancy coordination and stakeholder engagement to improve outcomes for women who have experienced domestic and family violence. As a Housing Officer, you'll work closely with clients, housing providers and community partners to provide practical housing support and coordinate tenancy-related activities. Supporting women to access safe, sustainable and affordable housing
Providing information, advocacy, referrals and practical housing assistance
Coordinating tenancy administration, including accommodation agreements, leases, bonds and condition reports
Conducting property inspections and identifying maintenance or safety requirements
Coordinating repairs and maintenance with contractors and relevant stakeholders
Delivering tenancy education, individual support and group workshops
Building strong relationships with housing providers, real estate agents and community networks
Maintaining accurate client records, databases and reporting
Working collaboratively to achieve positive housing outcomes for clients.
What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who is organised, empathetic and passionate about supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Experience in housing, homelessness, community services or a similar role A tertiary qualification in Human Services or a related discipline
Knowledge of the housing and homelessness sector, including relevant legislation An understanding of the barriers faced by women experiencing domestic and family violence
Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality A current Queensland Driver's Licence A current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain them).
