We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to join our team. This role will focus on recruiting talented professionals for disability support positions, management of HR matters and oversight of payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for support workers, youth workers, and corporate staff
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with NDIS and relevant industry standards
- Manage performance, employee relations, and workplace investigations with fairness and discretion
- Oversee compliance with Fair Work, WHS, and sector-specific regulatory requirements (e.g. NDIS Worker Screening, Blue Card)
- Champion a positive, inclusive workplace culture that reflects the organisation's values
- Manage training, professional development, and compliance record-keeping
- Advise and coach managers on people-related matters
- Oversee HR systems, reporting, and payroll liaison
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, position classifications, and salary benchmarking
- Manage employee onboarding, induction, and probation review processes
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation
- Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, and termination procedures in line with legislation
- Oversee work health and safety (WHS) initiatives, incident reporting, work cover claims and return-to-work programs
- Support change management processes during organisational growth or restructuring
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor, ideally within disability, community, aged care, or youth services
- Sound knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Worker Screening requirements, and relevant employment legislation
- Robust understanding of Fair Work Act obligations and modern awards (e.g. SCHADS Award)
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- A genuine passion for social impact and inclusion
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment for high-volume, front-line workforces
- Experience with HRIS platforms and payroll systems (e.g. Employment Hero, ELMO, or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing for executive/board audiences
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with staff at all levels, including frontline support workers
- Experience supporting workforce compliance audits (e.g. NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission)
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR recruitment, preferably in disability or health services sector.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications including - Diploma in Human Resources; or Certificate IV in Human Resources Management or equivalent; or significant demonstrated experience in recruitment for disability services.
- Successful experience in implementing casual to permanent conversion strategies and high-volume recruitment for disability support roles.
- A sound working knowledge of relevant employment legislation, NDIS framework, SCHADS award, and the disability services landscape.
- Ability to assess staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- A valid Blue Card and Yellow Card/NDIS National Screening Check.
