As a Research Analyst, you will monitor, research, summarise, and translate Australian news and current affairs into high-quality PowerPoint and Word-based reports. Topics will include Australia-Japan relations, politics, economic trends, public policy, and geopolitical developments across Australia, Recent Zealand, and the Pacific region.

No prior research experience is required. We are seeking intellectually curious professionals with a genuine interest in politics, economics, and current affairs. Candidates should have 2-3 years of work experience in Japan or Australia and possess strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and prepare reports, summaries, and presentations in Word and PowerPoint for Head Office.

- Monitor political, economic, and Geopolitical developments in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific region.

- Research key industries such as mining, energy, infrastructure, and agribusiness.

- Track developments in Australian politics, the economy, foreign policy, and Australia-Japan relations.

- Attend meetings, seminars, and conferences, and prepare summary notes and reports in Japanese.

- Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, academics, and research organisations.





- Coordinate external research projects and work with research providers.

- Travel within Australia, the Pacific region, and Japan when required, and prepare reports on findings.

- Communicate regularly with Head Office and support research activities.

- Assist with other projects and duties as required.

About You

- Native-level Japanese language skill

- Interested in researching and summarising news articles is highly desirable but not necessary

- Unlimited Australian work rights (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Partner Visa holder).
