Junior Metallurgist / Metallurgical Technician Location: Yatala, QLD.

Working days: Monday to Friday in a laboratory environment. Hands‑on metallurgical testing exposure. Degree or Lab Technician qualification required.

Role Prospect The Junior

Metallurgist will support the metallurgical and process engineering team in evaluating, optimising, and operating mineral processing and extractive metallurgy processes. Working under the guidance of experienced metallurgists, the successful candidate will assist with test work programmes, data analysis, process monitoring, plant performance reviews, and technical reporting across mining and mineral processing projects.

Essential Qualifications & Skills - Degree or laboratory technician qualification - 1–3 years laboratory or metallurgy experience - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills - Ability to follow procedures accurately - Good communication and teamwork skills Duties & Responsibilities Metallurgical Support - Assist with metallurgical test work programmes, including laboratory and pilot plant activities.

- Support the analysis and interpretation of test work results.
- Assist in developing process flow sheets and mass balances.

Technical

Analysis & Reporting - Prepare technical reports, presentations, and data summaries.





- Conduct statistical analysis of metallurgical and process data.
- Assist with sampling campaigns and reconciliation activities.

Project

Support - Assist senior metallurgists on studies ranging from concept through to detailed design.

- Support trade‑off studies, process design activities, and equipment selection. Health, Safety & Environment - Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
- Promote safe work practices in laboratories, processing plants, and project environments.
