Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team and contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality landscape projects across a diverse range of sectors. The successful candidate will bring a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors. Key Responsibilities

Consult with clients, architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop design briefs, establish project requirements, and provide expert advice on external area design, feasibility, and estimated costs

Conduct thorough site investigations and analyse data relating to geographical and ecological features, landforms, soils, vegetation, hydrology, and visual characteristics to inform design decisions and land use recommendations

Prepare environmental impact statements, site assessments, and technical reports that evaluate the potential effects of proposed developments on the surrounding landscape and community

Develop concept designs, masterplans, and detailed site plans that address functional, aesthetic, environmental, and social objectives across a range of project typologies

Produce working drawings, construction documentation, specifications, and cost estimates to a high standard, clearly communicating design intent including ground modelling, structures, planting, and access arrangements

Manage and coordinate landscape projects from inception through to practical completion, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget

Liaise with local councils, planning authorities, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals, permits, and licences in accordance with relevant legislation





Undertake site inspections during construction to monitor progress, assess workmanship, and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards

Contribute to the preparation of tender documentation, evaluate contractor submissions, and provide contract administration support throughout the construction phase

Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate landscape outcomes with broader urban design, civil, ecological, and architectural requirements

Support business development activities including the preparation of fee proposals, expressions of interest, and project presentations

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution

Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), or current AILA membership

Demonstrated experience in a professional landscape architecture practice, with a portfolio evidencing a range of project types and scales

Proficiency in industry-standard software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS platforms; familiarity with Revit or Civil 3D is advantageous

Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, planning frameworks, and relevant environmental and development legislation

Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and horticultural principles as they apply to landscape design and documentation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills,



with the ability to prepare transparent technical reports, specifications, and client-facing documentation

Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects

Collaborative team player with the interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors

Preferred Qualifications

Registered membership with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) or working towards Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) status

Experience in public realm, open space, infrastructure, or residential subdivision projects within an Australian context

Knowledge of MUSIC, storm water management principles, or Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD)

Experience with landscape heritage assessments or ecological restoration projects

Familiarity with BIM workflows and their application within landscape architecture practice

Postgraduate qualifications in urban design, environmental planning, or a complementary field

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Work Schedule: 8-hour shift

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year + Super
