Lead Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Lead Safety Manager to support our EPC Renewable business unit.

About the Role

Provide robust leadership and guidance to the project teams, promoting a positive HSE culture

Develop and implement HSE training programs for employees and subcontractors.

Conduct regular HSE meetings and site inspections

Review and update HSE policies and procedures as necessary

Ensure all suppliers and subcontractors comply with HSE requirements and have appropriate systems in place

Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to HSE standards

Review and assess subcontractor HSE capabilities during the tender stage

Evaluate subcontractor HSE documentation





Liaise with subcontractors to address any HSE concerns or non-compliance

Develop and implement the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management plan for the construction of the Renewables and Energy project

Ensure compliance with relevant HSE regulations, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle

Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop appropriate controls and mitigation measures

Implement and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Provide leadership and guidance to project teams on HSE matters, promoting a strong safety culture

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and take appropriate corrective actions

Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop preventive measures to avoid reoccurrence

Monitor and report HSE performance indicators and metrics to management and stakeholders

Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and other stakeholders on HSE matters

Track and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and requirements

Regularly communicate and engage with project teams to promote HSE awareness and foster a positive safety culture

Communicate regularly with clients regarding project progress and HSE performance

Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment,



promoting accountability and ownership of HSE responsibilities

Monitor team performance and provide feedback on HSE performance

Identify and implement innovative approaches to improve HSE practices and performance

Stay updated on industry HSE trends, regulations, and best practices About You

Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience as an HSE Manager in construction projects

Certificate or qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)

Proven knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and safety systems

Construction Induction NSW “White Card”

Attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Experience working in high-risk, high pressure and fast paced environments A commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for driving positive safety outcomes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and training programs Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proven ability to communicate and engage various stakeholders

Strong leadership and communication skills

Proven knowledge of risk assessments and incident investigation techniques

Proficient in HSE auditing and inspections

Experience in managing subcontractors and suppliers

Knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and regulations
