Lead Special Needs Nanny & Household Manager

Approximately 36 Hours Per Week
$60–$65 per hour super
Long-Term Opportunity A wonderful opportunity to join a warm, professional family in Forest Lodge as their Lead Special Needs Nanny & Household Manager. This is a unique role combining special needs childcare, disability support, family assistance and household management. The family is seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly organised professional who will become a trusted and valued part of their household.
The family has five children and both parents are professionals who work part-time from home. The children share their time between two family homes and the role operates around a regular fortnightly roster, with some flexibility required during school holidays and occasional roster changes.
Key Responsibilities;
- Providing care and support for five children. 14, 14, 10, 10 & 9 years
- Supporting a 14-year-old girl with significant physical disabilities and additional needs.
- Personal care including feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, wheelchair assistance and manual handling.
- Supporting therapy and communication strategies.
- School drop-offs and pick-ups and children's activities.
- Preparing healthy family meals.
- Children's laundry and household organisation.
- Grocery shopping and errands.
- Managing family calendars, appointments and household administration.
- Liaising with therapists and external providers.
- Helping ensure the household runs smoothly and proactively anticipating the family's needs.
- Occasional travel and additional support during school holidays may be required.
Candidate requirements;
- An experienced Nanny, Disability Support Worker, Family Assistant or Household Manager.
- Clear current Police Check
- Working with children check
- First Aid and CPR
- Drivers licence (car provided for work)
- Previous disability experience is highly regarded.
- Confident supporting children with additional needs.
- Warm, caring and genuinely passionate about children.
- Highly organised, proactive and hands-on.
- Physically capable and comfortable with manual handling and personal care.
- Calm, reliable, discreet and trustworthy.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Hourly rate dependent on Experience A wonderful opportunity to join a warm, skilled family in Forest Lodge as their Weekend Special Needs Nanny. This is a long-term position supporting a family with five children, including a 14-year-old girl with significant physical disabilities and additional needs.
The successful candidate will provide caring, engaging and reliable weekend support, helping the family enjoy relaxed and well-organised weekends while providing the children with continuity and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Caring for and engaging with the five children.
- Providing additional support to the child with physical disabilities and additional needs.
- Assistance with personal care including feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and wheelchair support.
- Manual handling and transfers using appropriate equipment.
- Supporting therapy and communication strategies as required.
- Preparing easy, healthy meals and snacks.
- Supporting activities, outings and family routines.
- Children's laundry and light household tidying associated with the children.
- Providing additional support during school holidays.
- Occasional weekday relief when required.
- Occasional travel with the family or overnight support when required.
Candidate requirements;
- An experienced Nanny, Disability Support Worker or similar.
- Clear current Police Check
- Working with children check

- Drivers licence (car provided for work)
- Previous disability experience is highly regarded.
- Confident and comfortable supporting a child with additional needs.
