About the role:

Reporting to the Principal Legal Officer and working as part of a small team, the Legal Officer provides often time-critical oral and written legal advice to Tribunal members and staff about the Tribunal's statutory functions.

About you:





- Develops or contributes to legal projects such as preparing or updating legal guidance and procedures for members and staff.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills as well as highly developed conceptual and analytical skills to provide legal guidance and advise Tribunal members, staff and senior Tribunal management.
- Experience in court / tribunal legal or registry support or comparable experience in providing legal / registry support to areas with a high-volume case-flow system is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues associated with mental health law, administrative law and the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act is highly desirable.
- Applicants must be admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and have a current practising certificate or be eligible to obtain a practising certificate.
