About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead construction activities on a major offshore structural remediation 15+ month project at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.
This is a hands-on leadership role supervising multi-disciplinary crews delivering structural steel remediation, offshore scaffold systems, corrosion protection works, pile wrapping, gallery wrapping and associated marine infrastructure works while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Working closely with Project Management, Engineers, Client Representatives and subcontractors, you will ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities across multiple work fronts.
- Lead and mentor fitters, boilermaker, coating and labour crews.
- Coordinate offshore access, work sequencing and daily planning.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project procedures and environmental requirements.
- Implement and monitor Protected Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and permit systems.
- Coordinate structural remediation, blasting, coating and Denso wrapping activities.
- Coordinate plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors to maintain project productivity.
- Monitor quality assurance requirements including inspections, testing and project documentation.
- Participate in client meetings, toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and planning sessions.
- Liaise with client representatives to coordinate operational interfaces and minimise disruption to terminal operations.
- Ensure accurate daily reporting including labour, progress, safety observations and productivity.
- Drive a positive safety culture through visible leadership and proactive hazard management.
About You
- Previous experience supervising large industrial or marine construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel remediation and maintenance projects.
- Experience coordinating blasting, painting or corrosion protection works.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and inspection processes.
- Experience working within live operating industrial facilities.
- Excellent planning, scheduling and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Essential Qualifications
- Construction Industry White Card
- Current Driver Licence
- Supervisor experience within heavy industry
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation
- Ability to obtain or hold an MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
- High level computer skills including Microsoft Office
Desirable
- Trade Qualification (Boilermaker, Mechanical, Scaffolding or similar)
- Marine construction experience
- Protective coatings or corrosion protection experience
- Denso Application Familiarisation (or willingness to obtain)
- Confined Space & Working at Heights
- First Aid
- Dogging, Rigging or EWP tickets
