MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Tingalpa QLD
Partnered with our host BDR Stainless Holdings, we are seeking a full-time 1st Year Boilermaker Apprentice to join the team.
Completing this four-year apprenticeshipwill give you the opportunity to become a qualifiedBoilermakerand earn aMEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking).
Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals, this role focuses on operational and mechanical functions.
It offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical skills, earn a nationally recognised qualification, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in the field.
BDR Stainless operates across a wide range of industries, including (but not limited to) Energy & Resources, Mining, Oil & Gas, Government & Infrastructure, Power Regeneration, and Food & Beverage.
As part of your professional development, you will work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced industry professionals. This role offers a combination of hands‑on experience and theoretical training across the greater Brisbane area.
Please note:Saturday work may be required depending on operational needs.
Responsibilities include:
- General cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Use of hand and power tools
- Operation of fixed plant equipment
- Metal grinding and cutting
- Operation of industrial machinery such as band saws, brake press, guillotine, welders, lathe and milling machine
- Full-time contract including paid annual and personal leave
- Access to 1:1 mentoring
- Full time 4-year contract including paid annual and personal leave
- Opportunity to access Government subsidy payments of up to a total of $2500 for the first 2 years of your apprenticeship paid in 6 month instalments

About You
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual who is eager to gain a qualification in Boilermaking.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and qualifications:
- Previous experience with stainless steel products or piping (advantageous)
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
- Manual driver’s licence (required)
- White Card (required)
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence (advantageous)
- Forklift licence (advantageous)
- High Risk Work licence (advantageous)
- Be able to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol screening, and a Police Check
