About the role

DICKSON GLASS & ALUMINIUM PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our warehousing, storage and distribution team. This is a full time position based in Lonsdale SA 5160. As a Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in our logistics operations, ensuring the safe, timely and efficient delivery of glass and aluminium products to our customers. Your contributions will directly support our business objectives and maintain our reputation for reliable service delivery in the manufacturing and logistics sector.

What you'll be doing

- Operating and maintaining company vehicles in a safe and professional manner in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

- Planning and executing efficient delivery routes to meet customer deadlines and service level agreements

- Loading, securing and unloading cargo with care to prevent damage to glass and aluminium products

- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements

- Maintaining accurate delivery documentation, including delivery dockets, manifests and customer records

- Communicating with dispatch, customers and management to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns

- Adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies whilst operating vehicles

- Supporting warehouse and distribution operations as required, including basic stock management tasks





- Maintaining a professional appearance and demonstrating excellent customer service when interacting with clients

What we're looking for

- A current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence, or equivalent, appropriate for the vehicles you will be operating

- A clean driving record with a demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices

- Proven experience as a truck driver in warehousing, storage or distribution environments

- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety checks, maintenance procedures and roadworthiness requirements

- Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently

- The ability to work independently whilst maintaining effective communication with team members and management

- Physical capability to perform loading and unloading tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items

- Proficiency in reading maps, following directions and using GPS or route planning technology

- A professional approach to customer interactions and a commitment to providing quality service

- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to accommodate varying shift patterns if required

- Preferably, experience in the glass, aluminium or manufacturing industries would be advantageous
