Our client is an established electrical contractor expanding into Queensland for the first time, having secured a rolling program of works refurbishing over 300 retail stores across the state. It's the first step toward a permanent QLD base, and they're looking for a licensed electrician to lead the electrical delivery on the ground.

This is a genuinely autonomous role. You'll often be working solo or in a small team inside live, trading stores, so this suits someone who's reliable, presents well, and doesn't need to be managed to get the job done properly.

What you'll bring

- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
- Construction White Card
- Experience in Commercial or Retail Fit-Out and Maintenance electrical work
- Robust fault-finding skills and a safety-first mindset
- Comfortable working autonomously on live, trading sites, and communicating directly with store staff and other trades
- Test and tag competency, Working at Heights/EWP (Yellow Card), or familiarity with a job management platform (e.g. Simpro) are all a bonus, but not essential

The role

You'll own the electrical scope on each store: switchboard upgrades, sub-board and distribution board works, and the supply and installation of power outlets, including double GPOs wired back to distribution boards. You'll also run and rough-in cabling and containment ahead of the AV, data and security fit-off, coordinating closely with that specialist so power is in place when they need it. The majority of your work will be Brisbane metro-based, with occasional travel to regional QLD stores, all expenses covered.
