We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Planner to join our production and technical team.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a key role in developing maintenance planning strategies and scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the maintenance of all machinery, plant equipment, and fabrication systems to optimize equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain effective preventive maintenance and equipment reliability strategies across machine shop, fabrication, and engineering plant operations.
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance activities, work orders, workflow processes, and major plant shutdowns.
- Write detailed job plans, review workflow processes, and perform routine maintenance audits and reviews.
- Utilise computerised maintenance management/monitoring systems for running reports, records management, tracking, and general equipment maintenance.
- Perform spare parts procurement, supplier coordination, and inventory management for plant machinery.
- Monitor fabrication costs, work scheduling,



and job execution to ensure cost control and minimal operational downtime.
- Identify equipment reliability issues, analyze operational trends, and implement long-term corrective solutions.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance by maintaining standards, policies, and statutory legislative requirements across all maintenance activities.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

- Qualifications: Relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma in Engineering/Technology, or equivalent relevant trade/technical qualification. (At least 3 years of relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications).
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance planning, maintenance assistance, scheduling, or plant engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in machine shop, metal fabrication, or heavy engineering equipment maintenance processes.
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning software and computerized inventory/records management.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong focus on OHS compliance, standard procedures, and continuous improvement.
