Location: Lismore, NSW (Hybrid) About the Role: An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector. Based in Lismore, this role supports the organisation’s financial management through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services. Working within a cooperative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation - Manage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reporting - Coordinate end-of-month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations - Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports - Support budgeting, forecasting,
and financial planning activities - Assist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements - Work closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountability - Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls About You You are a detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.
You Will
Bring - Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance - CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards) - Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations - Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance - Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities - Excellent organisational and time management skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Why Apply - Opportunity to contribute to an organisation supporting community services - Supportive and collaborative finance team - Professional development and career growth opportunities
