Join the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO) as Manager (Workforce Health & Safety) and play a key role in supporting the safe and sustainable delivery of major rail infrastructure projects. Queensland's rail network is entering a period of significant transformation, with major infrastructure investments helping meet growing demand, improve connectivity and support the future of transport across the state. Within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO), this role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects that will help shape how Queenslanders move for decades to come.
As Manager (Workforce Health & Safety), you will lead the function responsible for workforce health, safety and wellbeing across RIDO. Working across both office and project environments, you will help ensure that safety considerations are embedded into planning, decision-making and project delivery, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility.
This is a role with genuine impact that combines strategic leadership with practical engagement. You will work closely with project teams, leaders, contractors and workers to strengthen safety capability, support effective risk management and promote a proactive approach to workforce health and wellbeing. Your work will help ensure that RIDO continues to meet its legislative obligations while creating a safe and supportive environment for its people.
A key aspect of the role is providing advice and insights on workforce health, safety and wellbeing performance, emerging risks and compliance obligations to senior leaders. By translating complex information into practical recommendations, you will help guide informed decision-making and contribute to strong governance, assurance and organisational performance.
You will also lead and develop a small specialist team, supporting capability growth and fostering a collaborative approach to safety outcomes. Through your leadership, you will help build consistency in practices, strengthen organisational learning and support the maturity of RIDO's workforce health and safety functions.
Success in this role will suit an experienced safety professional who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative and people-focused approach. You will be comfortable leading teams, influencing across all organisational levels and building trusted relationships in complex and high-risk environments. Equally important is your ability to balance strategic thinking with visible leadership, engaging directly with frontline teams while supporting executive decision-making.
RIDO is delivering a growing portfolio of significant rail infrastructure projects, including investments that support Queensland's long-term transport future and preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In this role, you will apply your expertise in an setting where workforce health, safety and wellbeing are fundamental to successful project delivery. Your contribution will support both organisational performance and the people responsible for delivering infrastructure that will benefit communities across Queensland for years to come.
