Welder Fabricator / Fitter – Heavy Vehicle Workshop

John's Motor Services is a family run business that has been servicing the Sydney Metropolitan and South Sydney area for over 40 years. Our team of mechanics specialise in light commercial to heavy vehicles, diesel engines, and concrete agitators.

Our heavy vehicle workshop in Condell Park is looking for a Welder Fabricator / Fitter to join our team

We will be moving to Smithfield in October 2026.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Welder Fabricator to join our busy heavy vehicle workshop in Condell Park. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, fabrication, and working with heavy-duty vehicles and machinery. You will play a key role in ensuring the productive repair, maintenance, and modification of a wide range of heavy vehicles, including trucks, agitators, and other large equipment.

You will be involved in building and fitting new Concrete Agitators to both new and refurbished trucks. This includes custom mounting and aligning various brackets. You'll play a key role in ensuring the seamless build and installation of these heavy-duty components, contributing to the reliability and longevity of our customers fleets.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Perform welding and fabrication work on heavy vehicles, agitators, and other machinery, ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct repairs to vehicle frames,



chassis, suspension, exhaust systems, and other structural components.
- Fabricate custom parts and components as required for various repair and maintenance tasks.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately complete welding and fabrication tasks.
- Use a variety of welding techniques MIG, TIG and Aluminum welding to complete complex projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring adherence to all health and safety guidelines.
- Work closely with the workshop team to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator and Fitter, ideally within a heavy vehicle workshop.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG and Aluminum welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
