The Role

Join Southern Cross Protection as a Loss Prevention Officer and become part of a professional, customer-focused team. We are currently recruiting experienced officers for part time roles across Melbourne CBD, the Northern Suburbs, and Melbourne's Inner North and Inner South.

In this position you will be the first point of contact for the store, greeting customers, maintaining vigilance and conducting bag checks. This position requires someone consistent with their professional appearance and communication.

This role is highly customer-facing and suited to security officers who have experience working inretail store environmentssuch as:

- Chemist Warehouse
- Other standalone retail stores

The Tasks

- Greet and acknowledge customers entering the store
- Conduct bag checks in line with store policies
- Provide visible Loss Prevention presence to deter theft
- Monitor store activity and identify suspicious behaviour
- Respond to and de-escalate incidents or situations
- Work closely with store management and staff
- Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports
- Ensure the safety of customers, staff, and store assets

The successful candidate

- Hold a valid VIC security licence
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Maintain a tidy and professional appearance
- Must be able to work retail hours, this may include weekends and/or public holidays
- Must have legal work rights in Australia
