OpenAI Technical Trainer

Sydney, NSW | Full-Time | 2-Year Fixed Term Contract

VMS Group APAC is partnering with OpenAI , whose technology is transforming how people and organisations work, learn and build.

We're looking for a Senior AI Technical Trainer to help deliver one of the world's largest enterprise AI enablement programmes, empowering leading Australian organisations to confidently adopt and apply the latest Generative AI technologies.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, helping developers, solution architects, consultants and business leaders unlock the full potential of modern AI through engaging workshops, hands-on labs and practical learning experiences.

This is not a production software engineering role. Instead, you'll become the trusted technical educator in the room—guiding customers through real-world AI concepts, demonstrating best practices, and building the confidence needed to successfully adopt AI at scale.

Who You'll Support:

In this role you will support OpenAI's enterprise and partner enablement efforts across Australia. Your audiences will span the organisations OpenAI works with, including developers, solution architects, technical consultants, engineers, and business and executive stakeholders. You'll work alongside OpenAI programme leadership, VMS Group APAC, and regional and global enablement teams to deliver a consistent, world-class learning experience, and to help participants build confidently with OpenAI's technology.

What You'll Do:

- Deliver instructor-led workshops, bootcamps and technical training sessions across Australia.
- Facilitate hands-on labs covering Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents and API workflows.
- Guide developers,

solution architects and technical consultants through practical AI implementation scenarios.
- Translate complex AI concepts into engaging, practical learning experiences for both technical and business audiences.
- Support customer-facing teams and enterprise stakeholders as they adopt modern AI technologies.
- Troubleshoot technical questions and lab issues during live workshops.
- Represent OpenAI with professionalism, technical credibility and customer focus.
- Collaborate with regional and global programme teams to deliver a consistent, world-class learning experience.

You may currently be working as a:

- Senior Solutions Engineer
- Developer Advocate
- Solutions Architect

- Software Engineer
- Technical Consultant
- Cloud Engineer
- Technical Trainer
- Technical Enablement Specialist

You'll have experience across several of the following areas:

- Generative AI platforms and ecosystems
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Prompt Engineering
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI Agents and Agentic Workflows
- APIs, SDKs and developer tools
- Python or JavaScript
- AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
- Delivering technical workshops, presentations or customer enablement programmes

Most importantly, you enjoy helping others succeed. You can confidently engage software engineers, technical specialists, business stakeholders and senior executives,

adapting your communication style to suit different audiences and levels of technical expertise.

Requirements:

- Professional English communication and presentation skills.
- Experience delivering technical training, workshops, demonstrations or customer enablement programmes.
- Strong facilitation and customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to lead hands-on technical labs and troubleshoot participant issues in real time.
- Australian working rights.
- Willingness to travel across Australia as required.

Why Join?

- Work alongside OpenAI, one of the world's most influential AI organisations.
- Receive specialised product training and certification.
- Help Australia's leading organisations accelerate AI adoption.
- Deliver cutting-edge AI education using the latest technologies.
- Collaborate with global AI specialists and experienced technical trainers.
- Join a high-profile international programme with outstanding long-term career opportunities.

If you're passionate about Generative AI, enjoy teaching complex technical concepts, and want to help shape the future of AI adoption across Australia, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now to be considered for this exciting prospect.
