About the role

The Childers Butchery is seeking a Customer Service and Production team member to join our friendly, established butchery in Childers, QLD 4660. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to be a vital part of our operations. You will split your time between serving our valued customers at the counter and assisting with production activities in our shop. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service and quality products.

What you'll be doing

- Serving customers with a friendly, qualified demeanour and processing sales transactions accurately

- Providing product recommendations and answering customer enquiries about our meats and services

- Assisting with meat preparation and production tasks under guidance from experienced staff

- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shop and production areas in line with food safety regulations

- Restocking shelves and displays with products presented attractively

- Operating the till and handling cash and card payments with accuracy

- Supporting the team with general duties as required to keep the shop running smoothly

What we're looking for

- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine desire to help customers

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment

- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude





- Basic numeracy skills and familiarity with operating a till

- A willingness to learn about meat products and production processes

- Reliability and punctuality, even in a casual capacity

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including half day Saturday

- Food safety awareness or willingness to undertake food safety training

- Previous retail or customer service experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
