Universal Welding services is looking for experienced Welders/Fabricators/Boilermakers to join our growing workshop team.

We are a family-owned business specialising in structural steel fabrication and installation, delivering high‑quality work for commercial and industrial projects across South East Queensland.

The role

This is a workshop-based position involving fabrication and welding of structural steel components according to drawings and specifications

Responsibilities:

- Fabrication and welding of structural steel and general metal components

- Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications

- Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the steel fabrication and welding.

- Perform physical laboring tasks associated with welding and fabricating work

- Maintaining safety standards and a clean, organised work area.

- Other duties as directed.

Requirements:





- 2+ year experience in a similar role

- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

- Strong attention to details and workmanship

- Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic

- Ability to work safely in a workshop setting

- Good communication skills.

Desirable:

- Trade qualification in Engineering - Fabrication Trade

- Forklift, dogging or EWP licenses.

- White card

Hours:

- Generally 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday - Thursday with a half hour lunch break

- Early finish on a Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm with no lunch break

- Overtime as available
