Assistant Centre Manager and Educational Leader

We are seeking a passionate and experienced 2IC / Educational Leader to join a well-established 85-place early learning service that prides itself on its strong team culture, collaborative approach, and commitment to high-quality early childhood education.

Working closely with the Centre Director, you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while leading curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives across the service.

About the Role

As the 2IC / Educational Leader, you will support the Centre Director in the day-to-day running of the service while driving curriculum excellence and professional growth across the team.

You will be an active and visible leader who enjoys working alongside educators and stepping into rooms when required to support the team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting the Centre Director with daily operations and centre management




- Leading curriculum planning, programming and reflective practice across the service
- Coaching and mentoring educators to strengthen practice and outcomes
- Driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Supporting compliance with the National Quality Framework and National Regulations
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry changes and mandatory reporting requirements
- Building positive relationships with children, families and the wider community
- Assisting with rostering, staffing and operational support as required
- Supporting a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture
- Using Kidsoft to support administration and centre operations

What We're Looking For

- Experienced Assistant Director, 2IC, Educational Leader or senior leader within Early Childhood
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, National Quality Standards and approved learning frameworks
- Passion for mentoring and developing educators
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Collaborative leadership style with a hands‑on approach
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
- Confidence supporting both operational and educational aspects of the service
- Kidsoft experience highly regarded

Essential Requirements

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher
- Previous leadership experience within an early childhood setting
- Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and compliance requirements
- Current Working with Children Check and relevant certifications
- Full Australian working rights
