About Us

Ssam Ssam is a new Korean restaurant opening soon in Carseldine, Brisbane, offering authentic Korean cuisine in a modern and welcoming dining environment. We are committed to serving high-quality food and providing excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our opening team.

Key Tasks and Duties

- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies
- Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation
- Discuss food preparation and kitchen operations with managers and staff
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and train kitchen staff where required
- Prepare and cook a variety of Korean dishes
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
- Safely prepare and store fresh meat, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients
- Execute technical cooking skills to prepare traditional and modern Korean cuisine




- Assist with staff training and supervision when required
- Maintain appropriate food storage and preservation procedures

Responsibilities

- Report any kitchen issues or incidents to management
- Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly
- Monitor food quality to meet company standards
- Manage stock ordering, receiving and inventory control
- Store stock according to food safety requirements
- Prepare food efficiently for lunch, dinner and special dietary requests

Qualifications

- Diploma level qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field; OR
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial restaurant

Salary and Remuneration

Annualised salary from $79,423 plus superannuation (higher salary may be offered depending on skills and experience).

Experience

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef required.
