Full time role, working with the peak body for the Australian union movement, supporting the ACTU’s Centre for Workers’ Capital and Superannuation.

Since our creation in 1927, the ACTU has spearheaded some of the most fundamental workplace struggles in Australia’s history. The role The ACTU’s role as a peak body is to encourage workers to join their union, be a national voice for our movement, and advance and defend workers’ rights by co-ordinating union campaigns, representing workers at a range of government and non-government forums and to provide industrial, policy and other support to our affiliates. The role is responsible for the preparation of partnership proposals, the delivery of Centre for Workers’ Capital services, the coordination of sponsorship activities and the management of relationships with ACTU partners, affiliates and superannuation sector stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Administration of the Centre for Workers’ Capital operations

Monitor the service requirements, and the delivery of services, across all partners to ensure agreement compliance

Delivery of services including organisation of events and other deliverables

Prepare Centre for Workers’ Capital partnership proposals, service agreements including the preparation, service proposals and contracts

Assist in the provision of Centre for Workers’ Capital reporting working closely with the ACTU Finance Team





Support the Centre for Workers’ Capital Board including through the provision of board packs and attendance at board meetings

Maintain relationships with Centre for Workers’ Capital partners to ensure the effective implementation of service agreements

Work collaboratively with other ACTU teams to ensure the timely and cost‑effective delivery of contractual obligations

File, update and maintain documentation and correspondence in SharePoint and other approved systems, in line with ACTU record‑keeping governance and information‑management requirements. ACTU sponsorships

Coordinate sponsorship procurement and management for ACTU conferences and events.

Identify and engage prospective sponsors.

Support the preparation of sponsorship proposals and agreements.

Manage sponsor relationships and contractual deliverables.

Selection Criteria Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and provide high-quality administrative and coordination support.

Strong computer and document management skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated commitment to the values of the Australian union movement and working people.

Desirable: understanding of superannuation and workers’ capital.

Benefits The ACTU will offer the successful candidate a salary in the range of $93,959 – $98,089 dependant on skills and experience, along with an additional 15% superannuation, annual leave loading, working from home opportunities and generous leave arrangements (including up to 5 additional days of annual leave).
