Are you an organised, proactive professional with experience in managing the operations of a professional services firm? We are a boutique accounting practice with 12 staff members, looking for a Practice Manager to help us streamline administration and support our team’s success.
The Role:
- As our Practice Manager, you will work closely with the partners to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the firm. Your role will be hands-on and varied—no two days will be the same.
- Initially 4 days per week with flexible working hours. With a possibility of this role growing into a full-time role in the future
- $80,000 - $90,000 package (Full-Time equivalent)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations of the practice
- Manage and improve workflow processes across the firm
- Coordinate diaries and scheduling for partners and staff
- Supervise and support admin staff (if applicable)
- Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and collections
- Assist with employee onboarding
- Maintain client records and practice management systems
- Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and privacy requirements
- Coordinate lodgements and deadlines with the ATO and other bodies
- Manage correspondence, emails, and client communications as needed
- Liaise with IT providers, insurers, suppliers,
and other external vendors
- Assist in preparing reports for partners and meetings
- Support marketing and client engagement initiatives (e.g. newsletters, website updates)
- Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes
- Assist Partners with other project work relating to the practice
About You:
- Prior experience in a professional services workplace (accounting, legal, financial planning, etc.) preferred
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with using Microsoft Office and various other computer software
- Familiarity with Accounting software, ATO systems and compliance requirements (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems
- High level of discretion and professionalism
