THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Corporate Services team. This role will suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys variety and takes pride in accurate reporting and compliance.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and Manager of Corporate Services, the Senior Accountant will provide high-quality support across finance, payroll and reporting functions.

You will play a key role in ensuring financial processes are accurate, timely and compliant, while supporting internal teams, external stakeholders and continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

- Prepare journals, reconciliations, financial reports and month-end processes
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, debtor management and credit card functions
- Oversee and support end-to-end payroll process
- Prepare statutory returns including BAS, FBT, Portable Long Service leave submissions and grants acquittals
- Ensure compliance with payroll, taxation, superannuation and relevant legislations
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Actively participate in annual budgeting and management reporting
- Support cash flow, investments and petty cash and banking
- Support NDIS funding processing, reconciliation and reporting
- Liaise with internal and external auditors

ABOUT YOU

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting,



Finance or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards completion.
- Minimum two years' experience in a finance operations or senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements and payroll legislation.
- Experience in preparing financial reports, reconciliations, budgets and forecasts.
- Demonstrated experience across month-end processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable and debtor management.
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with robust attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to team culture.
- Commitment to person-centred practice, human rights, and safeguarding.

Highly Desirable

- Experience working within the not-for-profit, disability, aged care, or community services sector.
- Experience with finance and payroll systems such as Reckon, QuickBooks, Lumary, Attache.
- Experience supporting audits, funding acquittals, procurement, supplier management, and corporate compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve financial queries efficiently.

- Hold or obtain a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold or obtain a current National Criminal History Check (Police Check).
