Applied is looking for a Project Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of complex automation projects from concept through to commissioning.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in technical delivery, enjoys building strong relationships and can confidently drive projects forward with clarity, accountability and momentum. The Role
As a Project Manager, you will oversee multiple automation projects across a range of industries including Food & Beverage, FMCG, logistics, mining and consumer goods.
You’ll work closely with our Solutions, Mechanical, Electrical, Software & Controls and Production teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard. You will be responsible for:
Managing projects from handover through to FAT, SAT and final delivery
Driving schedules, milestones and cross-functional coordination
Managing project budgets, procurement and commercial performance
Leading customer communication and stakeholder engagement
Identifying and mitigating technical, commercial and delivery risks
Coordinating suppliers, contractors and internal engineering resources
Supporting commissioning and onsite activities where required
Maintaining accurate project documentation, reporting and forecasting
Ensuring projects align with Australian safety standards and internal quality expectations
Contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery processes
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager who reports to C-Suite What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines technical understanding with solid leadership and organisational capability. Essential
Experience managing industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing or engineering projects
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
Commercial awareness including budgeting, forecasting and procurement management
Experience working within structured project delivery environments
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
Comfortable working in fast-paced industrial environments
Current driver’s licence and ability to travel to customer sites when required Highly Regarded
Experience with robotics, machine vision or advanced manufacturing systems
Understanding of PLC/control systems and industrial automation environments
Experience managing FAT/SAT processes and onsite commissioning
Familiarity with platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition or SCADA systems
PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualifications
