The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking a strategic and cooperative Project Officer, Threatened Species to help drive conservation outcomes across NSW.

This is a unique opportunity to work at a state-wide level, helping guide where conservation effort and investment can have the greatest impact for our most vulnerable species.

About the role

In this role, you'll work at the intersection of science,



strategy and conservation delivery.

Using spatial, ecological and statistical analysis, you'll work with stakeholders to help identify and prioritise threatened species conservation projects including Assets of Intergenerational Significance (AIS), ensuring resources are focused where they can achieve the best outcomes.

What you'll be doing

- Reviewing and prioritising threatened species conservation programs and sites.
- Analysing spatial and ecological data to inform state-wide conservation decisions.
- Developing practical, science-based recommendations for conservation investment.
- Supporting NPWS branches with threatened species analysis and strategic advice.
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure recommendations are practical, achievable and deliver real conservation outcomes.
