Sharma Corp is a formation-stage, long-horizon technology company developing the systems required for humanity’s future in space.
Our work spans autonomous spacecraft intelligence, mission-control infrastructure, communications, reusable launch systems, advanced propulsion, and future in-space infrastructure.
We are now looking for a Founding Propulsion & Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to help establish Sharma Corp’s first rocket engineering capability.
The Role
This is not a conventional engineering position.
You will work directly with the Founder on the earliest technical architecture for Sharma Corp’s propulsion and launch-vehicle programs, including our first propulsion system, first engine research program, reusable rocket architecture, and GNC stack. You will help take the program from equations and simulations to hardware, testing and eventually flight.
What You Will Work On
- Define the architecture of Sharma Corp’s first rocket propulsion system.
- Contribute directly to the design and development of our first rocket engine.
- Perform propulsion performance modelling and trade studies.
- Research combustion, injectors, chambers, nozzles, turbomachinery and propellant-feed systems.
- Develop vehicle dynamics and six-degree-of-freedom flight simulations.
- Design Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithms.
- Model trajectory, stability, control authority and vehicle performance.
- Support engine-to-launch-vehicle integration.
- Develop simulation, verification and test frameworks.
- Define instrumentation and ground-test requirements.
- Support future static-fire and flight-test programs.
- Maintain rigorous engineering documentation, calculations and design decisions.
- Help establish the technical standards from which Sharma Corp’s future Propulsion and GNC teams will grow.
What We Are Looking For You should have a solid foundation in one or more of:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Propulsion
- Rocket-engine design
- Fluid mechanics
- Thermodynamics
- Combustion
- Flight dynamics
- Control systems
- Orbital mechanics
- GNC
- MATLAB / Simulink
- Python, C or equivalent engineering tools
You do not need to know everything listed above.
We care more about strong fundamentals, exceptional technical curiosity, the ability to learn rapidly, and the desire to build difficult systems from first principles.
Particularly Valuable Experience Experience with any of the following would be valuable:
- Liquid rocket engines
- Hybrid or solid propulsion
- CFD or FEA
- Engine-cycle analysis
- Propellant feed systems
- Thrust-vector control
- State estimation / Kalman filtering
- Embedded flight software
- Hardware-in-the-loop simulation
- Rocket testing
- Student rocketry or experimental aerospace projects
Why This Role Matters This engineer will not simply join an established propulsion department. You will help create it.
The engineering decisions made at this stage could influence Sharma Corp’s propulsion, launch vehicle and spacecraft architecture for decades. Over time, this function is expected to develop into dedicated Propulsion, GNC, Avionics, Structures, Flight Software and Test Engineering teams.
We are looking for someone who wants to be present at the beginning.
