The Junior Category Manager role, based in our Kangaroo Point office, is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in category management, buying and merchandising.

Working closely with the Buying team, you'll support the day-to-day management of product categories, assisting with product ranging, supplier coordination, pricing administration, promotional activities, inventory planning and reporting. You'll help analyse sales performance, maintain product data, prepare category reviews and contribute to initiatives that drive sales growth and improve customer outcomes.

This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in a buying, merchandise administration, retail support or coordination role who is ready to develop their commercial skills and gain hands-on exposure to category management within a growing business.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Supporting the development and execution of category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Assisting with analysing category performance, sales trends and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Supporting supplier relationship management, including supplier communication and coordination.
- Assisting with product ranging,



pricing updates and promotional planning.
- Preparing category reports, sales analysis and commercial documentation.
- Coordinating and maintaining accurate product information, pricing and category records.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of planograms and assisting stores with category implementation.
- Conducting market and competitor research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Liaising with Marketing, Operations, Finance and other key stakeholders to support category initiatives.
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Buying function.

Experience & Key Skills

- Previous experience as a Buying Assistant, Merchandise Coordinator or in a similar retail support role is preferred.
- Qualification (or currently studying) in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially curious with a willingness to learn.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to achieve outcomes with minimal supervision.
- Professionalism in appearance and attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of emotional resilience.
