Emerald Hospital in Queensland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Perioperative team on an 8-week contract from late August through mid-October 2026. This is a Grade 5 RN position offering $57.62 to $73.04 per hour, working Monday to Friday day shifts plus on-call duties across 76 hours per fortnight. It's an ideal opportunity for a perioperative nurse looking for focused, short-term work in a busy surgical workplace.

- Perioperative nursing in a high-volume surgical setting with exposure to theatre, recovery, and endoscopy

- $57.62 to $73.04 per hour, Grade 5 classification, with on-call component

- 8-week contract with flexible day-shift scheduling, Monday to Friday

Preferred Requirements

- Solid perioperative nursing experience, including scout and scrub roles





- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification and competence in resuscitation

- Demonstrated skills in IV cannulation, triage, and anaesthetic support

- Experience in endoscopy procedures and emergency response protocols

- Ability to work flexibly on-call and adapt to a fast-paced theatre environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia

- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification current and valid

- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated competence in perioperative nursing practice
