We’re looking for a Safer Gambling Specialist to play a key role in delivering Betfair’s safer gambling obligations by investigating, understanding, and identifying customers who may be at risk of gambling harm.

What You Will Bring

- Proven data analysis skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- High level of attention to detail.

- Experience in utilising Microsoft Excel.

- Availability to work a rotating roster, including some weekends.

- A proactive doer, and a flexible, hard-working team player.

- A keen eye for identifying responsible gambling red flag trends across customer accounts.

- Sound wagering IQ to understanding betting anomalies/different customer betting strategies.

- Have a sound understanding of the regulatory environment governing Betfair, including the NT Code of Practice for Responsible Online Gambling.

- Maintain productive relationships across key internal and external stakeholders.

- Take a very proactive approach to process improvement.

- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns across various datasets.

- Demonstrate great independence and autonomy.

Preferred But Not Essential





- Previous use of open-source investigative tooling and methodology.

- Previous experience working within the wagering industry.

- Previous experience interacting with customers over the phone.

Some Tasks Include, But Are Not Limited To

- Facilitate thorough investigations of responsible gambling red flags at account level, acting as required.

- Conduct detailed analysis of red flag gambling behaviours and audits of Betfair’s responsible gambling functions/capabilities.

- Contact customers identified in red flag reporting to offer SG tools.

- Draft scheduled responsible gambling reports and submissions, including collating data and deriving insights.

- Support delivery of SG training, including facilitating sessions and developing training content.

- Support projects that optimise Betfair’s SG framework.

- Act as a point of liaison for responsible gambling enquiries, fostering excellent relationships.

- Work closely with Betfair’s Fraud, Due Diligence and Customer Service staff across both Betfair and CrownBet to manage the flow of information and accounts across each function.

- Develop expertise in the operation of the Betfair Exchange, including customer behaviours.

- Develop expertise in the operation of CrownBet, including product offerings.

- Continue to educate staff across Betfair of NTRC and responsible gambling functions.

- Any other duties or tasks, as directed, within your skills and experience.
