With more than 50 people in the Brisbane business, we’re recognised for disciplined delivery, strong stakeholder management and reliable outcomes across projects ranging from $50k to $50m.
As our work continues to grow across sectors including commercial, education, health, aged care and transport, we’re looking for a Safety Advisor to help us maintain the highest standards of safety across our projects. You’ll play a key role in:
Working alongside our project teams, you’ll help drive SHAPE’s Safety‑First culture across construction sites. From pre‑construction through to completion, you’ll support teams to deliver projects safely while ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and SHAPE systems. While primarily supporting projects in Brisbane, the role will also involve travel to the Gold Coast and occasionally Townsville to support our teams across Queensland. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and support SHAPE’s Safety-First culture across projects and teams
- Provide advisory support on EHSQ systems, policies and procedures
- Conduct site inspections, observations and hazard identification activities
- Review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and ensure compliance
- Support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
- Assist project teams with risk registers,
project delivery plans and EHSQ processes What You'll Bring
You’re a practical safety professional who enjoys working closely with site teams and influencing positive safety behaviours across live construction environments.
- Qualification in Work Health and Safety or Construction Management
- Demonstrated EHSQ experience within the construction industry
- Experience with safety inspections, risk assessments and investigations
- Robust understanding of WHS legislation and safe systems of work
- Ability to influence and coach project teams to improve safety outcomes
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
