ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to oversee Tuhorse's supply chain across our three warehouse sites, including our new primary despatch hub. Reporting to the General Manager and CEO, this role leads a team of 4 and is responsible for purchasing strategy, inventory control, supplier relationships, and distribution operations across our solar, electric, and hybrid pump product lines and stockyard equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine, implement, and monitor purchasing, storage, and distribution strategies across three warehouse sites
- Determine and implement inventory purchasing recommendations based on quarterly and monthly customer sales trend analysis
- Prepare purchase orders for supplier spend exceeding USD$100,000 per month, based on demand and inventory analysis, for CEO/GM authorisation
- Determine and arrange the purchasing of materials, equipment, and services within delegated authority, escalating higher-value purchases for CEO/GM approval
- Coordinate the invoice and payment approval process with the CEO/GM, including preparing supporting documentation for overseas supplier payments
- Refer and resolve unit cost variances directly with suppliers, overseeing clarification and negotiation on pricing
- Manage cost evaluation and discrepancy resolution across transport and freight invoicing
- Establish and control inventory levels to balance customer demand with storage costs
- Manage ageing inventory and maintain accurate ERP stock-on-hand levels and valuations through monthly cycle counts and bi-annual stocktakes
- Manage operational setup and workflow across three warehouse sites, including the new primary despatch hub
- Manage relationships with external transport and warehousing partners
- Direct, train, and evaluate the performance of supply and distribution staff; hold final rostering authority over all warehouse and logistics team members, including casual staff
- Conduct yearly performance reviews with all direct reports; participate in disciplinary matters in conjunction with the General Manager
- Prepare monthly reporting for the General Manager on warehouse and supply chain performance
- Manage quarterly warranty submissions for all suppliers and establish a recovery plan
- Manage and maintain new product setup, integrations and inventory records within the ERP system
- Ensure all supply and distribution activities comply with relevant occupational health and safety regulations
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a supply chain, logistics, or distribution management role
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team of direct reports
- Proven track record in budget preparation and cost control within a logistics environment
- Experience negotiating pricing, cost and delivery terms with suppliers and freight/transport providers, including resolution of cost variances
- Technical knowledge of machinery and equipment specifications, gained through close supplier engagement in the manufacturing sector
- Advanced knowledge of inventory management systems, accounting systems and supply chain software — Cin7 (ERP), Xero, and Monday experience highly preferred
