This key second-in-charge role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, business analysis, and continuous improvement of finance systems and processes. Working closely with Finance, Payroll, HR, ICT, and other departments, you will provide valuable financial insights that support school operations and strategic planning. This role is ideal for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on accounting expertise with data analysis, process improvement, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key priorities for the role include:
Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of management, Board, and statutory reports.
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modelling to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Maintain the integrity of financial records, reconciliations, and audit processes, including preparation for annual audits and year-end reporting.
Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and reporting through automation, data management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Manage compliance reporting obligations, including government, regulatory, funding, and governance reporting requirements.
Partner with stakeholders across the School to provide financial analysis, business cases, project reporting, and insights that support operational and strategic outcomes.
This is a permanent full-time position.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring relevant experience and systems knowledge. The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail,
and the ability to liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will drive efficiency and accuracy within the Finance team, whilst embodying the values of the School, and promoting Wenona in a positive manner.
