About the role The Senior Adviser – Recovery is responsible for providing support and technical advice to State and Territory leadership teams on emergency recovery programming. The role drives the strategic positioning of Australian Red Cross as specialists in recovery programs and ensures Operations, Advocacy, Partnerships and Marketing and Communication teams are best positioned with high level research, advice and messaging.
Day to day, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of evidence-based and best-practice resources, training, tools, and workshops to enhance understanding of recovery from disasters and disruptions.
- Build the organizational capacity of Australian Red Cross around recovery work and support volunteer workforce engagement and training
- Advise on the implementation of recovery programs at community, industry and state/ territory level.
- Support the the development of recent recovery programming through program design, logframe development, PAT development and budget preparation.
What you will bring
- Substantial experience in climate resilience, emergency services, or a related field, preferably within a complex NGO, corporate, or philanthropic environment.
- Proven track record in managing high-value relationships across the emergency services and academic sectors.
- Demonstrated success in leading and guiding disaster resilience programming.

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award level 6, Red Cross job grade 6 – salary from $115,339.12.
