Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist Emergency Physician to join a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department that operates 24/7. You will work within a well-established multidisciplinary team supported by experienced emergency consultants, highly skilled critical care nursing staff, and strong technical and administrative services, creating an efficient and collaborative clinical environment.

Hospital

The facility is one of Victoria’s major healthcare providers, employing more than 3,500 staff and delivering services across a region that encompasses almost a quarter of the state. With over 650 beds, the hospital manages more than 42,000 inpatient admissions each year and sees approximately 50,000 emergency presentations annually. It supports around 1,400 births per year, includes a 20-bed intensive care unit for critically unwell patients, and operates an 80-bed integrated mental health service.

The hospital is equipped with 11 operating theatres and performs close to 13,000 surgical procedures annually, offering a broad and comprehensive range of services to the community.

Requirements

- Specialist registration with AHPRA/FACEM
- Currently enrolled in the ACEM training program and within 6 months of fellowship
- IMG with a confirmed ACEM interview date
- IMG assessed by ACEM and deemed substantially comparable
