Role Description The Senior AWS Technical Lead is a contract role based in Sydney, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site collaboration and work from home flexibility. This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS-based architectures, including infrastructure, security, and CI/CD pipelines. The Senior AWS Technical Lead will guide technical decisions, review solution designs, and provide hands-on support for migration, integration, and modernization initiatives.

Day-to-day work includes collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring engineers, managing technical risks, and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.



The role also involves documenting architectures, establishing best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement of cloud delivery processes.

Qualifications

Robust expertise in AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM) and experience designing secure, scalable architectures.

Hands-on skills with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management).

Experience leading technical teams, providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentoring engineers on cloud best practices.

Background in application and data solutions, including APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and data management or analytics platforms.

Knowledge of security, networking, and reliability practices in the cloud, including monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer) are highly regarded.

Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments and comfort operating in a hybrid work model.
