Progresciv is seeking a Senior Civil Designer with proven proficiency in the use of Bentley OpenRoads and Microstation to lead the design and documentation of roads, highways, and active transport projects. The role involves delivering innovative, practical design solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with clients and the broader team. You will also lead the development and maintenance of Progresciv’s workspaces and worksets, helping to build on the already established efficient and consistent digital design workflows.

We are a WA based civil engineering consultancy focused on roads, highways, and active transport projects. Our focus is on providing deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, client-focused approach to deliver practical, buildable designs. Key Responsibilities

Lead detailed civil design and drafting using OpenRoads and Microstation for road, highway, and active transport infrastructure projects.

Develop and maintain design documentation, drawings, models, and specifications in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements.

Develop, manage, and maintain company workspaces and project worksets, including standards, templates, seed files, feature definitions, annotation groups, cell libraries, and drawing-production resources.

Establish consistent and efficient digital design and documentation workflows across projects.

Identify and implement opportunities to automate design, quality assurance, data-management, and drawing-production tasks using AI, Python, Visual Basic, or similar programming and scripting technologies.





Collaborate with engineers, planners, clients, and other stakeholders to develop practical and constructable solutions.

Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.

Mentor and support junior designers and engineers, building team capability and encouraging knowledge sharing.

Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in civil design software and automation. Requirements

Proven experience as a civil designer specialising in roads, highways, and active transport projects using OpenRoads.

A minimum of three years’ professional experience using OpenRoads.

Strong understanding of Australian design standards, road geometry principles, and civil infrastructure documentation requirements.

Demonstrated ability to produce detailed designs and construction-ready drawings.

Experience developing, administering, or maintaining OpenRoads workspaces and worksets.

Experience with, or a strong interest in, workflow automation using AI, Python, Visual Basic, VBA, or similar programming and scripting tools.

An innovative and continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement more productive ways of working.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines effectively.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing.
