Codida is a specialised data and analytics consultancy working with Australia's resources sector. Founded in Perth in 2023, we help mining, oil and gas clients unlock the value in their operational data and use it to drive real improvement in how they run.

Our work spans industrial IT/OT integration, modern data platforms, visualisation, environmental compliance monitoring and process automation.

We're a close-knit team. Some of our work is embedded with client teams on their sites, some of it runs out of our own office — usually a blend of both. Either way, our people work together and back each other up.

We're growing quickly, across new clients and new commodities — and this role is a big part of how we grow. THIS ROLE

This role combines hands-on platform delivery with technical leadership across our team.

You'll start out building a Lakehouse platform in Databricks using a medallion architecture, working alongside one of our data analysts already engaged with the client. The platform supports asset and network modelling for a large physical operation, including digital twin use cases — a substantial build with a clear operational purpose.

That engagement is where you'll begin rather than the limit of the role. You'll take on other clients and projects as our work evolves, and across Codida you'll be a technical reference point for our engineers — setting standards, mentoring, and lifting the technical bar. Over time we'd expect you to lead small project teams, own client relationships, and contribute to proposals and new work. RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Engineering

Design and build medallion architecture (bronze / silver / gold) platforms in Databricks

Develop ingestion,



transformation and orchestration pipelines using Spark and Delta Lake

Model asset, network and operational data for analytics and digital twin use cases

Integrate data from industrial historians, SCADA and operational systems

Set standards for CI/CD, testing, data quality, governance and documentation

Technical Leadership

Act as a technical reference point and mentor for engineers across our engagements

Set and uphold engineering standards and ways of working

Review designs and code, and coach the team

Track developments in the field and bring them back to us

Client and Delivery Leadership

Build client relationships and back them with consistent delivery

Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business objectives

Lead small project teams and own delivery outcomes

Communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

Contribute to proposals, solution design and estimating

Ownership

Manage your own tasks and priorities

Take engagements from requirements through to delivery

Identify improvements and further value for the client

Share knowledge with client personnel and with the wider Codida team REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Hands-on Databricks engineering — Spark, Delta Lake, medallion / Lakehouse patterns, orchestration

Robust SQL and Python

End-to-end data platform design





Software engineering discipline — version control, CI/CD, automated testing, code review

Technical leadership — mentoring engineers, setting standards, leading a delivery teams

Strong communication and stakeholder skills at a senior level

Able to take initiative where requirements are unclear QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field

Databricks certification or equivalent is valued

Mining, resources, rail, infrastructure or other asset-intensive industry experience is preferred

Exposure to digital twin, asset management or geospatial / network data is an advantage

Experience with streaming, IoT or time-series data at scale is an advantage

Experience writing proposals or scoping consulting engagements is an advantage
