Your new role
As the Senior HV Electrical Engineer, you will act as a technical authority within the business, leading the delivery of complex HV design and power system engineering projects. This is a hands-on role that combines technical leadership, design oversight, mentoring and client engagement. You will provide technical direction across power system studies, protection systems, primary plant design and earthing systems while supporting project delivery teams through technical reviews and engineering assurance activities.
You'll also play a key role in developing engineering capability within the business and maintaining high standards across all project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex HV design and power system engineering projects.
- Undertake power system studies, protection design, earthing design and associated HV engineering activities.
- Act as a technical authority, providing guidance, review and sign-off of engineering deliverables.
- Ensure engineering outputs comply with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and client requirements.
- Provide technical assurance and structured review of work completed by engineers and designers.
- Support project planning, design coordination and risk identification.
- Engage directly with clients, network service providers and subcontractors on technical matters.
- Mentor and develop engineers and graduates across the business.
- Contribute to tender submissions, technical proposals and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of industry experience within power systems or HV engineering.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in protection and power systems detailed design.
- CPEng and RPEQ accreditation.
- Strong experience using ETAP, PTW, DigSILENT, SafeGrid and Cymcap.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple concurrent engineering projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client engagement skills.
- Proven mentoring and leadership capability within technical team
