Fairfield City Council manages a variety ofchildren and family services, including long day care, preschool, family daycare, supported playgroups, early intervention services and family supportservices. Strong networking opportunities and support exist for educators whowork within our services, as do internal opportunities for skills developmentand career progression across service types. The Fairfield City Best Start Education & Care Unit is strongly committed to providing opportunities forprofessional development, including a leadership program for emergingdirectors, study support, including study leave and reimbursement andsecondments across the services. Comprehensive training plans to suitindividuals are also available and consistent support from the Management Team.
Fairfield City Council seeks to employ an enthusiastic Child Care Worker who has apassion for working with children and their families from diverse cultures andbackgrounds and who enjoys being challenged and supported through professionaldevelopment and team environments. You will be working as part of a agile team tomeet the individual programming needs of children 0-5 years.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
ESSENTIAL:
- Diploma, AssociateDiploma in Child Studies or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualification)
- CHCPRT001 Identify andRespond to Children and Young People at Risk and Child Protection Update2025
- Current First AidCertificate, Asthma Certificate, Anaphylaxis Certificate and CPRCertificate, as approved by ACECQA
- Working with Children Check
- Knowledge andunderstanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, National QualityStandards and the Education & Care National Regulations 2011
- Experienced andconfident in providing a developmental program and curriculum for childrenaged between 0 and 6 years with incorporation of the EYLF and NQS
DESIRABLE:
- Excellentcommunication skills including skills in managing conflict
- Experience and/or passion in working with children with additionalneeds and from a culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent full-time position, 28 hours per week
- This position is a Grade 3, salary range is $71, 173 p.a. with progression to $74, 777 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $83, 373 p.a.
- A uniform is provided on commencement and allowance thereafter
