About the role

Western Home Services Group is seeking an experienced Senior Landscaper / Leading Hand to join our team in the Perth Metro area, based out of Mandurah, WA. This is a full-time position that offers the chance to lead landscaping projects and mentor junior staff members. As a Senior Landscaper / Leading Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing landscaping operations, ensuring quality workmanship, and managing teams on site.

This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the gardening and landscaping industry and delivering outstanding results to our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Leading and supervising landscaping teams on site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the highest standards
- Planning and coordinating landscaping projects from inception to completion, including site preparation, installation and finishing
- Mentoring and training junior landscapers and apprentices in best practices and company procedures
- Operating a range of landscaping equipment and machinery safely and effectively
- Liaising with clients to understand project requirements and manage expectations throughout delivery
- Conducting quality inspections and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on all projects
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used and project timelines
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise project outcomes
- Assisting with the preparation of quotations and project estimates where required

What we're looking for





- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on landscaping experience, with proven supervisory or leading hand experience
- Strong knowledge of landscaping design principles, plant species, soil preparation and hardscaping techniques
- Proficiency in operating landscaping machinery and equipment, including mowers, excavators, chainsaws and trimmers
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites across the Mandurah region
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to safe working practices
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour duties regularly
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Horticulture or Landscape Construction would be advantageous
