About Nexmin Nexmin is a Perth based, multi-discipline engineering consultancy specialising in the delivery of industry-leading metallurgical and design solutions for mineral processing facilities. The Role
Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager you are responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across studies, detailed design, project delivery and commissioning activities for a range of mineral processing projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and designers, and work collaboratively with clients and internal disciplines to deliver safe, practical and cost-effective engineering outcomes. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Duties
Prepare, review and deliver electrical engineering design and technical solutions for mineral processing and mining projects
Participate in feasibility studies, concept studies, FEED and detailed design phases
Conduct technical calculations and engineering assessments
Support procurement, vendor package reviews and technical bid evaluations
Interface with clients, vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Provide commissioning support and site technical assistance as required
Lead electrical engineering packages and coordinate project deliverables
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers
Assist with resource planning and project scheduling
Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and within budget
Promote a strong safety culture through design risk assessments and safe design principles
Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews and constructability reviews Criteria Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry projects
Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and mining industry practices
Experience working across study and detailed design project phases
Proficiency with engineering and design software.
Experience with HV design, including ETAP and/or Digsilent PowerFactory desirable
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Site commissioning and construction support experience
Strong technical and problem-solving capability
Self-motivated with a proactive approach
Collaborative and team-oriented
