About Basic Trailers
We’re a proudly Australian-owned manufacturer, building high-quality trailers from the ground up. Based in Pooraka, we’re known for doing things right—combining solid craftsmanship with efficient production. Our team is growing, and we want people who value a no-nonsense, well-run workshop.
About the Role
We’re looking for experienced fabricators and welders to join our growing team at Basic Trailers. If you’re proud of your welds, know your way around a fabrication workshop, and want to work with a company that values craftsmanship and efficiency, we want to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where precision and pride in your work matter. You’ll be part of a team that builds a wide range of trailers—from box trailers to heavy-duty plant trailers—and you’ll have input into improving how we build.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld steel trailers and components to a high standard
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and job cards
- Operate workshop equipment including MIG welders, grinders, plasma cutters, and presses
- Measure, cut, drill, and assemble components accurately
- Perform quality checks to ensure trailers meet our strict standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
What We’re Looking For
- Trade qualification or solid hands-on experience in fabrication and welding
- Strong MIG welding skills with a neat and consistent finish
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Valuable understanding of steel materials and fabrication techniques
- Attention to detail, with a focus on producing quality work
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
What We Offer
- Full-time, stable role in a busy and growing manufacturing business
- Competitive hourly rate, reviewed annually
- Ongoing work on a wide variety of trailer types and custom builds
- Opportunity to contribute ideas for workshop improvements
- Supportive team culture with a focus on doing things efficiently and well
- Monthly breakfasts, lunches, staff perks, and performance reviews
How to Apply
If you’re a fabricator or welder who takes pride in a job well done, send us a quick intro and your CV. Tell us about your experience and what makes you a great fit for this role. We’re looking for people ready to hit the ground running and take ownership of their craft.
