About the venue

The Hastings Hotel is a community-focused, traditional pub located in the heart of Wauchope, just 15 minutes west of Port Macquarie on the beautiful NSW Mid North Coast. Boasting a newly renovated public bar/TAB, gaming room and entertainment area and the #1 bottleshop in town we cater to all segments of our local community. Further works (currently at DA stage) will ensure this iconic venue is at the forefront of hospitality offerings in the region well into the future.

We're Looking for an Experienced and Passionate leader.

We are currently seeking a Head Chef to join the team and lead the kitchen team in producing high quality and innovative meals whilst driving a positive culture. This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and experience and take the reins to the growing kitchen operations at the Hastings Hotel.

What you bring:

- Commitment to excellent customer service

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment

- Proven reliability and flexibility

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a cook or 2 years as a chef

- Relevant trade certifications

- Solid references from previous similar roles

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide culinary leadership

- Ensure consistency and high quality

- Drive menu development and special offerings

- Manage food costs (GP%), stock, and orders when required

- Manage wage costs and rosters

- Maintain food safety, quality standards, and compliance

- Support and drive the team to high standards in all areas
