We're seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality payroll services while providing specialist payroll expertise across the organisation. Based at Newstead, this is a maximum-term contracts (12 months). As a subject matter expert, you will manage complex payroll matters, champion compliance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor team members to ensure service excellence .
Salary range: $93,103 - $102,572 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be do ingManage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and complian ce.Interpret and apply awards, EBAs, legislation, taxation, and employment conditio ns.Resolve complex payroll issues and act as an escalation point for enquiri es.Conduct audits, reconciliations, and data integrity chec ks.Partner with Finance, HR Systems, and Rostering teams to improve payroll process es.Monitor legislative changes and implement required process and system updat es.Coach and mentor Payroll Officers and contribute to team capability developme nt.Lead and support payroll improvement projects, system upgrades, and change initiativ es.
About youExtensive experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a complex environm ent.Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, taxation, and compliance requireme nts.Demonstrated experience resolving complex payroll issues and driving process improveme nts.Strong stakeholder engagement and coaching ski lls.Experience using Aurion, Kronos, and payroll reconciliation to ols.A collaborative approach with a strong focus on accuracy, customer service, and continuous improvem ent.
